Render Repairs and External Wall Insulation Maintenance

Enhance the look and protect your building from structural damage. Render repairs and regular maintenance will deal with cracks and missing patches which can let water in and don’t make a good impression either.

Do I need rendering repairs on my building?

If there are cracks and uneven or flaking patches, or any signs of damage that suggest water is getting in, it’s definitely a good idea to have a professional assessment. Small damage can be fixed quickly and efficiently at low cost and save a lot of money and trouble in the long run.

If you have insulation installed under the render, and you can see insulation materials or mesh through the missing or damaged patch of render, please get in touch as soon as possible. The sooner we can get things in order, the greater the chance of avoiding serious damage.

Sometimes, incorrectly installed external wall insulation leads to damp issues and the subsequent damage to the outer shell of the building. In such cases, reinstallation of the insulation might be needed.

Thin coat renders (silicone and acrylic) can be cleaned with care using a 40 bar pressure washer with a fan (not jet) spray pattern and mild detergent.

Moss, mould or lichen growth should be brushed off and treated with a suitable product to prevent regrowth. While cleaning, it’s worth checking the render for structural integrity and contacting a specialist if you find any damage. And if your render is showing excessive damage, it might be time to replace it with a new coat.
